At On Haven, our providers are highly educated and well versed in the treatment of thinning hair.

Scalp therapy offers benefits that may optimize follicle health and promote new hair growth. If you are looking for a specialized treatment for hair thinning/loss, please let us know and we can arrange a free consultation with one of our medical providers.

Scalp therapy can also serve as a great adjunct to medical treatments such as Platelet Rich Plasma or Platelet Rich Fibrin injections for hair loss.

Contraindications:

Medical conditions that prevent you from laying flat on your back for prolonged periods of time.

Allergies or reactions to any ingredients listed in our scalp care products. (Please make sure to note any nut allergies).

Hair treatment and/or coloring within 72 hours before or after.

Hair treated with locs, wigs, glue, extensions, or any other products that may hinder treatment must be removed prior to your appointment.

Active infections and/or infestations (ie. Lice)

Any open wounds or sores.

If you are pregnant, we recommend clearance from your PCP. Be sure to notify your professional if you are pregnant as some of the products we use are not recommended during pregnancy, and treatment may need to be altered accordingly.

3rd trimester pregnancy is contraindicated as you are flat on your back for extended periods of time.

If any of the above contraindications are noted by your provider on the day of your appointment, treatment may be cancelled and subject to 50% of service charge.

Hair follicles in the scalp, much like the pores on your skin can become clogged with dirt, oil, dead skin cells, and product residue affecting the health of your scalp and hair. Scalp treatments are ideal for unclogging the hair follicles, balancing sebum production, and optimizing scalp health.

The products we use, and the specific techniques we implement during your scalp therapy treatment stimulate microcirculation, increasing blood flow to the follicles. The increase in blood flow therefore brings and increase in much needed nutrients to the follicles.

We recommend a treatment every 4-6 weeks, as healthy cells ‘turns over’ approximately every 30 days!

Every treatment at On Haven Aesthetics is customized to the individual.

Your treatment will start with an initial scalp analysis in which your provider will use a microscope to closely examine the condition of your scalp as well as the health of the scalp and follicles.

Your provider will then customize a treatment plan involving massage, shampoo, scalp treatment, hair condition and/or mask, and/or leave in products tailored to your scalp needs.

Optional aromatherapy, with your choice of scent.

Additional treatments or add ons such as facial, LED therapy, micro-O2 treatment, blowout/styling may be done based on the treatment selected at booking.

A gentle massage of the head, neck, and scalp with be provided with various hair tools throughout your treatment.

A basic facial cleanse with customized facial mask is optional.

A halo water experience.

It is normal to feel a little sting and tingle (aka “stingle”) during your treatment. This sensation should be temporary and mild. (If you note any "burning" or pain, this is NOT a normal expectation, notify your provider immediately- this should be).

Hair will be towel dried at the end of treatment, no styling will be provided. Blow dry tools and professional styling products will be available for use in our locker room. Add on styling can be done when available.

After treatment is complete, your provider will perform another microscopic analysis of your scalp to compare the condition before and after treatment. *Please note, some results may vary depending on the pre treatment condition of your scalp. It may take several treatments before a significant difference is noted.

(Remember scalp therapy treatment is tailored to treat the scalp, not the hair, but consideration for hair type is implemented).

Please arrive on time and complete all necessary paperwork and consents prior to your appointment. Arrivals more than 15 minutes late are subject to cancellation and a 50% cancellation fee. Please note what scalp therapy session you booked. Based on the selection, your treatment will be either 60 or 95 minutes plus time for any add ons were selected.

**Please note during booking if you have thick hair or hair longer than mid back, as we may need to allot extra time to accommodate your hair’s thickness/length to ensure you receive the full benefits of the treatment and keep our appointments on schedule!

Please avoiding cleansing your hair for at least 24-48 hours.

Please dress appropriately in lightweight, comfortable clothing. You may opt to undress to your comfort level as your treatment does involve neck, upper back, and shoulder massage. A robe will be provided.

All treatments are performed in a private room unless you have booked a service with a friend of family member and choose to have your treatment done in the same room at the same time.
